British Aerospace (BAe) J41 Jetstream

First flown on 18 August 1967, the jetstream was originally produced by the venerable handley page company, based at Radlett UK. Powered by a pair of Turbomeca Astazou turboprops, the HP.137 jetstream was a short-range, pressurized commuter airliner - or feederliner - that could seat upwards of 19 passengers. executive cabin configurations were also offered. with the demise of handley page in March 1970, production of the jetstream ceased.
the design rights were later purchased by Scottish Aviation Ltd, which in 1977, merged into the larger British Aerospace (BAe) conglomerate. BAe relaunched the Jetstream, powered by garret tpe-331 turboprops, in 1978. Now called the jetstream j31, the first of several hundred jetstream airframes flew on 29 march 1980.

Sikorsky H-3/S-61 Sea King
and Variants

If simple longevity is any indication, the sikorsky sea king has proven to be one of the best helicopters ever built. First flown on 11 March 1959, examples of the original design are still flying to this day. when it comes to Versatility the Sea King’s design has also proven to be one of the best. this versatility can be seen in the fact that it has been adapted to any number of military missions, while being employed by numerous military air arms around the world. Additionally, the Sea King has been flown in the civilian world in a variety of capacities, including as a passenger commuter helicopter, a niche that very few helicopters have ever adequately filled. Finally, as another validation of the sea king’s design, in addition to sikorsky, variants have been built under license by several manufacturers.

Note: all sikorsky-built sea kings had a manufacturer’s serial number (MSN) that began with 61, i.e. 61-001, 61-002, etc…
